Metal Magnetic Memory
The Metal Magnetic Memory method is an internationally patented technique developed for the materials testing and integrity assessment of metals. The essence of the method is that stress concentration zones, microcracks or discontinuities in metals can be identified and localised using magnetic fields. By exploiting the magnetic properties of metals, the method is capable of detecting changes in the structure of metals that may indicate the presence of cracks or other defects.
To apply the Metal Magnetic Memory method, experts use a special magnetic sensor, which is placed on the surface of the metal being tested. The sensor detects the object’s own magnetic field and processes the resulting data. The method then involves performing further analyses and calculations based on the obtained data, resulting in an image of the metal’s material condition and any potential defects within it.
The advantage of Metal Magnetic Memory is that it is a non-destructive, passive method, meaning it does not require intervention or sampling from the metal surface being tested.
