Vibration Monitoring and Condition Surveillance at Alpiq Csepel Power Plant

SMART-UP Case Study

The vibration monitoring of the steam and gas turbines at Alpiq Csepel Power Plant has been ensured for more than two decades by the Beran 766 protection system and the associated Plant Protect Vision 4 monitoring software.

Thanks to the decades of experience and a reliable quality management system, Trans Lex Work Ltd. continuously and accurately performs the daily vibration monitoring of the gas turbine-generator-auxiliary gearbox units and steam turbine-generator units operating at the Csepel Power Plant.

Through a secure VPN connection, TLW specialists monitor the condition of the machines on a daily basis and immediately notify the plant’s maintenance team of any significant changes. In addition, machine dynamic behaviour is evaluated during start-up and shutdown events and compared with historical reference data, ensuring the availability of reliable information required for safe and continuous operation.

Upon request of the power plant, TLW provides telephone support and, when necessary, written reports to assist in resolving instrumentation configuration and diagnostic issues. Detailed quarterly reports document the vibration condition of the monitored equipment, highlight any deviations, and include recommendations for corrective actions.
